Masala-e-Dose

 Hey all and welcome to my fifth blog. It's been a long time that I had been here  and that's because my offline classes have started. I would like to thank each one of you who asked me when I am going to publish a new blog and your query made me so happy. So, here I am, with a new blog before you.

Today, I am going to tell you all about a weird dream that I had a few months back when whole of India was under lockdown due to the pandemic.

Mornings are the best! The cold breeze, the peace and silence, chirping of birds, milkman ringing the door bell, newspaper just lodging into the front gate are all a pure bliss to enjoy. South Indians filter coffee is very famous and the mornings are usually accompanied by a fresh cup of filter coffee. Typically the aroma of the filter coffee that comes from the kitchen wakes up many like me. It creates a sense of euphoria and gives a joy with an immense pleasure. All these beautiful senses are hard to explain but you would know if you have enjoyed it.

You can travel the whole world but the best cuisine you can ever get is from Indians. We have unique ways and methods by which the traditional dishes can be prepared. One such delicacy is dose. It is basically done with the fermented batter which is best with a combination of hummus (chatni) and palya. The king of different types of doses is Masala dose. The crispy layer of the dose just makes your brain to secrete a whole lot of saliva and each bite of the dose with the sambhar (rasam) dipping makes it more juicy and delicious.

 

 Due to this corona pandemic, I was so immersed in online meetings, lectures, classes and the webinars that the hopeful mornings would become a dreadful start to a new day with the same old virtual meetings. All these circumstances made me have a wildest dream that I felt totally funny. Too much of digitalizing made me get a dream where I was having a crunchy bite of the CD thinking that it was my masala dose for breakfast.

It is a wonder how our brain works. It can create a dream of unimaginable things too. Laughing at my weird dream I continued my daily chores happily.
